 washout period

Dear Sai!

❝ How is the wash out period calculated generally in a BA/BE study.

The washout period is defined by the time difference between administrations in a cross-over study (not the difference between the last sampling time in the first period and the administration in the second period).

Example:
Treatment period I
First administration: Monday 01 January 7:00 am
Last sample: Tuesday 02 January 7:00 am
Treatment period II:
First administration: Tuesday 08 January 7:00 am
Last sample: Tuesday 09 January 7:00 am

Washout: 1 week or 168 hours (not 6 days)
