 FARTSSIE 3.0 [Software]

Dear all,

two days ago Dave published v3.0 on GitHub. Changed: Correct calculation of CVtotal from the 90 or 95% CI of a study in a parallel design (sheet [Bioequivalence, Parallel], CV from published Point Estimate and CI); it was wrong in v2.8 and v2.9.
Like in the 🇷-package PowerTOST – function CVfromCI(), the CI and group sizes are mandatory and the PE is optional.
With the Cmax-results of this post (90% CI: 0.7475–1.3656, n1 10, n2 9) in Excel 365 on Windows 11:

CVfromCI() and Phoenix WinNonlin give 39.08% as well.

 FARTSSIE 3.0

Thank you for the update.

When I try to run the macros I get the following notification:
"Cannot run the macro 'FARTSSIE30.cleaned.xlsm'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled."

Under File --> Options --> Trust Center --> Trust Center Settings --> Macro Settings I already "Enable VBA macros" but I still get the same notifications.

Does anyone have any ideas why and/or how to solve this?

 FARTSSIE 3.0: Excel 365 @Win 11 & Excel 2000 (‼) @Win 7

Hi BEQool!

❝ When I try to run the macros I get the following notification: […]

❝ Does anyone have any ideas why and/or how to solve this?

Which versions of Wingoofy and Excel are you using? Did you follow the instructions for Windows 11?
  1. Right-click on the downloaded file.
  2. Select "Properties".
  3. In the "Security" section, click "Unblock", then click "Apply".
  4. When you open the file in Excel, click "Enable Content".
Steps 1–3 have to be done only once. Step 4 has to be done only when you open the file for the first time.

Working in:
  • Excel 365 v2406 build 16.0.17726.20078 on Windows 11 build 22000.675.
  • Excel 2000 build 9.0.6926 SP 3 via the Microsoft Office File Converter Pack on Windows 7 build 7601 SP 1, Universal C Runtime 10.0.10240.16390… :-D

 FARTSSIE 3.0: Excel 2021 @Win 10

❝ Which versions of Wingoofy and Excel are you using?

I am using Windows 10 and Excel MS Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 (Version 2108, Microsoft® Excel® LTSC MSO (16.0.14332.20714) 64-bit).

❝ Did you follow the instructions for Windows 11?

I have followed the link and the steps but still nothing.

At step 4 it doesnt say "Enable Content" but instead just "Enable Editing".

Interestingly, no macros can be seen in VBA window

When downloading the file, software Harmony Endpoint checks it because of potential safety issues. Could this be the problem?

Hi BEQool,

THX for the information.

❝ I have followed the link and the steps but still nothing.

Strange.

❝ At step 4 it doesnt say "Enable Content" but instead just "Enable Editing".

That’s likely due to the different versions of Excel.
Microsoft is notorious for changing stuff. Worst was the transition to VBA 2000 on localized versions. All keywords were renamed and the English ones did not work any more. Instead of CELL() and RAND() on a German system you had to write ZELLE() and ZUFALLSZAHL(). Outright bizarre. See there for an endless list.

❝ Interestingly, no macros can be seen in VBA window

In Excel 365 on Windows 11:

No idea. I suggest to contact Dave – he is a very nice guy.

 Windows GPO

Hi BEQool,

I suppose you are doing this on the corporate notebook, right?
I bet your company has high level cybersecurity rules applied, and it also includes GPO for VBA in Office applications (an example).
In such case you cannot override this policy. A bit strange that you have an access to Macro Settings, usually it is greyed out.
To check this, you can try to open this xlsm on the PC out of your corporate network (say at home PC).

Kind regards,
Mittyri

 Windows GPO

Dear Helmut and Mittyri,

thank you for your answers, mystery solved now!

Mittyri, like you said the macros didnt work because of security rules indeed.
I downloaded and opened the file on PC at home and it worked just fine.

Thank you!
