Hello All, I wanted to know whether the job descriptions which are part of C.V's in an individual current staff record file shall be filled before training of a new joined employee or once his training on SOPs or general procedures are completed. Regards Shuja |

Dear Shuja, To define on which topics your new staff member has to be trained, you need to define what he will have to do... So IMHO you need to write his job description first ! Regards Ohlbe |

Thanks Ohlbe, I completely agree with you but don't you think the responsibilities shall be assigned only after required training and each individual within laboratory will have different responsibilities assigned to them? |

Dear Shujak1, IMHO there are two different things. One is what your new staff member is hired for, and that's in his job description. A second thing is what this new staff member is supposed to do for a specific project, and this will be in a delegation form signed by the investigator for the clinical part of the trial (see ICH GCP, §4.1.5). For the bioanalytical part this is the responsibility of the test facility management (see OECD GLP, §1.1.2). You could have a full description of all tasks of the new staff in the job description (including those for which he has not been trained yet), and only delegate for each new project those tasks for which he has already been trained.
