 Timepoints for Metabolite Identification [Bioanalytics]

Dear Group Members,

During a bioequivalence study, in case we plan to perform Metabolite Identification, what are the timepoints to be selected? Do we need to look for metabolites in the absorption phase, at Cmax and in the elimination phase?

Thanks & regards,

 Timepoints for Metabolite Identification

Dear Dr Harish,

It depends what you want to do with these data. If you are only interested in identification: just a few points from Cmax and in the elimination phase should be enough, forget about the absorption phase where metabolite concentrations will be lower. If you want to have data about exposure to the metabolite, or about its apparent half life, you'll need more points.
