hi i would like to know how to perform lipemic effect during bioanalytcial method validation. Is it by adding any available lipid containing reagents to plasma or by obtaining plasma from patients of hypercholestrolemia? If any reagent has to be added to simulate lipemia, what is the reagent available (name, company)? |

Dear dr harish Thanks for the info. But how will the patients are categorized as lipemic? usually the lipid profile consists of total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, TG, VLDL & Chylomicron. we usually categorize them as primary & seconadry hyperlipidemias. So how could we categorize patients as lipemic? is there a specific lab criteria based on which they are branded as lipemic? If it is discussed in any literature, please provide the link / material reference. |

It is reported in the literature that you can not prepare lipemic plasma by adding various triglycerides or chylomicrons as it will not behave in the same manner as naturally occurring lipemic plasma. Contact you local blood product company, and they most likely can furnish you with lipemic plasma. Edit: Please follow the Policy in the future. [Jaime] |
