Metformin 1000 mg vs metformin 500 mg x 2 tablets [Design Issues]

Dear Sir

I had one query about the following titled study

An open lable, balanced, randomized, two treatment, two period, two sequence, single dose, crossover bioequivalence study of Metformin 1000 mg + atorvastatin 10 mg tablets Vs two tablets of metformin 500 mg + atorvastatin 10 mg tablets

now my query is can we administer two 500 mg tablets as substitute for 1000 mg tablet

2. In such situation, is there any impact on their pharmaco kinetics

thank you

Metformin 1000 mg vs metformin 500 mg x 2 tablets

Dear Kasi,

According to your data, it is corrected to design the study administering one table of 1000mg versus two tablets of 500mg. But pay attention to dose of atorvastatin (10mg), so your study should be: one tablet of Metformin 1000 mg + atorvastatin 10 mg Vs two tablets of metformin 500 mg + one table of atorvastatin 10 mg
