 Blocks [Design Issues]

Hi

For a bioequivalence study of two drugs with 34 volunteers, how should be a block randomization? What size should be the blocks?

 Blocks

Dear John
I am not an expert in randomization, however, 34:2=17. You can not devide 17 into equal blocks. So you will have only two blocks, right?
Kind regards

What’s your rationale? Are you aiming at stratification (let’s say for sex)? See this lengthy thread about blocks.

Hi Helmut

I’m not going to do stratification, but I think we have to use blocks of different sizes randomly selected, is that correct?

Did you read the linked thread? Do whatever you like. BE studies are generally open-label. What do you hope to gain by different block sizes – except satisfying blockheaded inspectors?
