 Estimation of drug [Regulatives / Guidelines]

Dear All,

How to decide whether pro drug or metabolite to be measured in blood, serum or plasma. Is there any book or reference available for this if so tell me.

Ziprasidone we had done on serum, tacrolimus on blood, and most of the drugs on plasma. I would like to know how to decide this. give me reference plz.
