BE Guidance: Cholestyramine Powder [Regulatives / Guidelines]

Hi Boys and girls,

Question... Can someone tell me why for Colestyramine powder, with and without acid pretreatment are required for in-vitro equilibrium binding study but only without acid pretreatment is required for in-vitro kinetic binding study?

I know that kinetic binding study is really a supportive study for the equilibrium study but shouldn't it be subjected to both acid no acid conditions as well?

Thanks
John

Although I'm considerable TOOOOOO old for your salutation: A quick guess (20 years ago I had such a study IIRC), acid-treatment is considered to alter the maximum binding capacity (if anything at all), but not the kon or koff. So studying only equilibrium should be OK...

Nice summer!
