 statistical termination

Dear HS

According to ICH E6 guidelines on GCP consolidated guidelines sections 4.12, 5.21 and 6.9.4 defines the pre mature termination /suspenction of a trial, especially section 6.9.4 deals about termination of trials for statistical reasons but does not give the termination crieteria.
could u please clarify on this.

thanks

 statistical termination

Dear mathews,

IMHO these provisions would rather apply for Phase III trials where you may decide to interrupt your trial based on the results of an interim analysis (e.g. if you have reached a statistically significant difference between your treatment groups or shown a pre-defined level of effect). I can't think of any situation where you would decide to interrupt your BE trial based on statistical considerations.
