Dear Shravan: Get the approval from your sponsor to destroy the IPs at your end or to send them back to sponsor [if they will be doing it from their side]. Secondly, you should have an SOP to destroy the IPs after the expiry period or it can be in-build in the protocol. Contact the approved biowaste vendor where the IPs will be destroyed and observe that the destruction is done and a certificate of destruction is handed over to you. Apart from this, you can directly out-source to companies which can do on your behalf, but again there has to be an agreement, vendor audit performed etc and things like that  Regards Suds |

Dear Shravan: Follow the same procedure, capture this also in your ICU medicine SOP and destroy the expired medicines and keep all the records for the destruction.  Regards Suds |

Hi Shravan: You need not get the sponsor approval for destruction of your ICU medicines, I had written to follow the same procedure meant<IMG alt= src="http://forum.bebac.at/img/smilies/confused.gif">, to have an in-house SOP for this activity. You cannot detroy them according to your wishes, it should be appropriately handled. Refer MoEF guidance document. Regards Suds |
