Copy of informed consent to volunteer

Dear esreddy,

I would expect you to provide a copy of the informed consent form at the time the subject signs it - which is before you know whether he is eligible or not.

Copy of informed consent to volunteer

Dear ES reddy,

It is necessary to give a copy of ICD which signed and personally dated by the volunteer, prior to participation of the study. Pls read section 4.8.11 of ICH-GCP.

It is of utmost importance to give the copy of ICD to the volunteer before starting the ICF presentation. This is in complete compliance with 11 principles laid down in 21-CFR-50, ICH-GCP-Topic E 6 - Step 5, 4.8.11 and bioethical guidelines by ICMR. Also part 42 - right to information act- following this law, you have to give complete information to the volunteer before extracting any consent for any procedure you may have designed. Also, make sure to have your IEC invited during any of the ICF presentation and let them document the same with a precise point that you gave a copy of the ICD to the volunteer. The FDA off late is very keen to know these details.

Dear drmunkundz,

Of course. But the question was related to the signed informed consent form. You don't have it available before the ICF presentation.

Where did you see this to be required ?

 Responsibility of IEC

Dear drmunkundz & Ohlbe,

Right! I'm a little bit concerned about the phrases "your IEC" and "let them document...".
"Your IEC" doesn't sound independent (well, to be honest it rings my alarm-bell). I can't imagine a situation where the IEC (or some members) visit the CRO and document ongoing activities there. That's not their job - but the job of the internal QAU and/or of the external monitor.
