Dear All When we are having two group of subjects being dosed in two different days, we take the Group Effect into consideration. What if because of a very large sample size, if the sample size is divided in two groups but we dose both the groups in the same day at different time intervals, will the Group Effect come into consideration this time? — Best regards Rajdeep Mukherjee Protocol Developer |

Dear Rajdeep! I don't understand what you would gain here. More than one group generally is employed for logistic reasons because the clinical capacity is limited. If you start the same day a second group a couple of hours later the clinical capacity is still limited and I would expect chaos in blood sampling (overlapping schedules). IMHO from a statistical point of view it wouldn't make any difference. — Dif-tor heh smusma 🖖🏼 Довге життя Україна! ![]() Helmut Schütz ![]() The quality of responses received is directly proportional to the quality of the question asked. 🚮 Science Quotes |

Dear Rajdeep, dear Helmut Even if from a statistical point of view a second group on the same day would not make any differences I strongly suggest not to dose two subject groups on different times of the (same or another) day:

Dear Dr Dan and Helmut Then what will be the possible solution? My query was influenced beacuse of logistical reasons. For e.g: If we have a study with 80-90 as the sample size and we have sampling to be done frequently (e.g. at 5 minute intervals), we need high number of personnel/resources. So we can utilize the minimal resource and use the same resource on the same day for a different group. Is there an alternative for such a design henceforth? And AFAIG, your reply does signify that even we dose two groups at different time sets on the single day, we will have to use group-effect as we have lot many parameters getting changed in the two groups. — Best regards Rajdeep Mukherjee Protocol Developer |
