 Group Effect in BA/BE study [General Sta­tis­tics]

Dear All,

I would like to know what is GROUP EFFECT while conducting a mixed gender study of say 120-160 volunteers in 3 different group of say 40-50 volunteers for each group.

I would appreciate any regulatory reference which explains in detail the group effect.
