 Arterial Blood samples [Study Performance]

Dear All,

We normally collect Venous blood samples for drug analysis in bioavailability and bioequivalence studies, now can any one please tell me when are arterial blood samples collected in bioavailability and bioequivalence studies.

Thank You and Regards,

 Arterial Blood samples

Dear Dixit,

In BE studies: never ! Arterial samples are much, much, much more difficult, dangerous and painful to obtain. Let alone multiple samplings... It would require a very specific and special situation to have to collect arterial samples in a BE study. And I don't think you would do that for a BA study either, at least in humans.
