We are planning a replicate study wherein the total blood loss is 480ml in 4 Periods with wash out period of one week between periods. Do you know of any guideline which says that we need to check the Hb (hemoglobin) of the subjects before the start of Period III, please advice. The eligibility criteria before start of study is at least 13.5 Hb. -- Edit: Category changed. [HS] |

No guideline I know of. Generally blood loss comparable to a single bood donation (500 mL) in a 2-period study does not rise medical/ethical concerns. IMHO your planned design should not be problematic. — Dif-tor heh smusma 🖖🏼 Довге життя Україна! ![]() Helmut Schütz ![]() The quality of responses received is directly proportional to the quality of the question asked. 🚮 Science Quotes |

Hi Vishal, As per American Red Cross, donate at a time at least 110pounds of blood. In India, blood loss is more than 350ml it's required to do HB% regarding subjects safety & ethical concerns. -- Edit: Full quote removed - like in all your previous posts! Please see this post! [HS] |
