Dear All, As per PDF specifications guidlines Scanned documents should scanned with resolution of 300 dots per inch (dpi) but our scanner having pixels per inch (ppi) setting option which is having automated OCR option. we are thinking that it won't have any disadvantages and/or in file size if we are scanned with resolution setting of PPI. Technically PPI gives the input and DPI the output resolution (see there). Many scanners (falsely)* state DPI in the setup. If yours gives PPI, congratulations. BTW, the guidance is not free from errors: Create files from source documents using the “Optimize the PDF for fast web view” option to reduce file sizes and file opening times. “Optimize for web” speeds up loading and – much more important – allows linking to a specific page (e.g., MyDocument.pdf#pageX) but files are always slightly larger.
