RSABE for Pharsight Phoenix WinNonlin [Software]

Hi Helmut!

At AAPS now. I saw the presentation made by Certara on your RSABE workaround today. :-) They spelled your last name as Schuetz?

Time to go back out and get drunk...

What the heck? In the latest version of the poster (last week) it was correct… Doesn’t hurt that much; “ue” is a proper transcription of the nasty u-Umlaut “ü”.

I spoke with Ann (?) and she said a few lines were modified?

No, I emailed ElMaestro but he didn't respond so I don't know his real name :-(

There was a display of firework (confrontation) in one of the sessions yesterday. :-D
Now that was entertainment.

Have you heard of a software called SYMCYP?

Met my old mention Dr. L Endrenyi to catch up on things :-)

Thanks
John

I got the email and responded back as quick as I could. Terribly sorry if something went wrong as I would have liked to meet you. I will try to re-send it.

Hi ElMaestro,

No worry ;-) I am sure we will meet again in future AAPS. Unfortunately I have to leave on Thursday morning to visit bioanalytical lab up in Austin and then fly back to NJ in the evening (12AM arrival!!!)
I might have seen you in some sessions.

Did you attend the seminar on NTI drugs? Did you find it interesting? No not the discussion, but the "good" discussion. Hint hint... :-D

Hi John,

email sent yesterday - I hope it reached you this time.

I was not at the NTI session, unfortunately. My charm, intelligence and good looks were demanded elsewhere.

Ana Henry.

Hhm.

❝ Have you heard of a software called SYMCYP?

Yep. A spin-off from the University of Sheffield, led by Geoffrey Tucker. Physiology-based PK/PD like GastroPlus. Contrary to PopPK/PD, which is “top-down” (empiric model based on fitting PK data including covariates) Simcyp follows a “bottom-up” approach. Based on the physicochemical properties of the drug and a huge database containing information about physiological parameters (absorption sites, organ blood-flows, metabolizing enzymes/transporters) and their dependencies on age, sex, ethnicity, disease states, etc. concentrations are predicted. Interesting stuff.

Simcyp was acquired by Certara about two years ago.

Playing in the same league with GastroPlus. I don’t know of any generic company having one of those programs licensed. Simulations Plus claims that GastroPlus is used by all of the top 20 pharma companies (which includes the top generic company, Teva, ranking #12 in 2012). Duno.

I know a few number of generic companies here use Gastroplus. It's quite good. If I recall correctly, Gastrolplus was like $20K-60K or something?
Now I am not sure if the BD guy from SimCyp said $200K for the entire program (SimCyp has different modules) or the price depends on what module you purchase.

Typically access to the SimCYP software is by joining the consortium for a minimum time period, however it is also possible to access the expertise of our SimCYP consultants on a case by case basis by entering into a consulting project.

As Helmut inferred the SimCyp Simulator is probably overkill for a generic pharmaceutical company however it is intended to shortly release a standalone IVIVC product which can be purchased wihout the need to join the consortium and we believe that this will be a very attractive tool to use yourselves or in collaboration with our consultants whenever you are exploring new formulations etc.
