Sorry for the confusion - forget it. Seems that after installing 2.14.0 and

update.packages(checkBuilt=TRUE, ask=FALSE)
the local HTTPD-server had hiccups. After a reboot the help system of 0.8-7 is working like a charm. Same on my notebook, where I have 0.8-7 on 2.13.2 installed.—
