Dear Helmut,

❝ in all these locations. In my example the path was set by R, and I was able to read it from the console by read.table() - but got the error from bear.

I see. I think you're talking about NCA output. You first did NCA and saved the output file. Then load this NCA output when you planned to do GLM. The error occurred at this moment. We will check that import function again. If you choose NCA--> GLM function, there is only one step to import.

❝ Maybe it’s possible to implement a question/answer game with the user about his/her file's content and format. Otherwise I expect you will get a lot of e-mails…

That's what I am afraid of. lots of e-mails...:-(

❝ Since everything is possible, read.table() has these two arguments:

sep the field separator character. Values on each line of the file are separated by this character. If sep = "" (the default for read.table) the separator is 'white space', that is one or more spaces, tabs, newlines or carriage returns.

dec the character used in the file for decimal points.

You have proposed a very nice way to fix this problem. Yes, we will try to make if more flexible. Does a user know what these options for?
or still we are going to get lots of e-mails, anyway? :-(

Best regards,
Yung-jin
