Ratio of AUCt to AUCinf [Regulatives / Guidelines]

Dear all,

Can any one explain about the purpose of calculating ratio of AUCt to AUCinf during PK Analysis. What is the criteria given in any of the regularity guidlines (USFDA, EMEA).
