DPI vs. PPI [Software]
Hi Ramesh,
Technically PPI gives the input and DPI the output resolution (see there). Many scanners (falsely)* state DPI in the setup. If yours gives PPI, congratulations.
BTW, the guidance is not free from errors:

Create files from source documents using the “Optimize the PDF for fast web view” option to reduce file sizes and file opening times.
“Optimize for web” speeds up loading and – much more important – allows linking to a specific page (e.g., MyDocument.pdf#pageX) but files are always slightly larger.- I have three (HP, Canon, Dell). All give DPI…
