Pooling is fooling? [🇷 for BE/BA]

Just some thoughts:

on one end of the pooling debate you can find meta-analysis. And their often far-reaching conclusions for "evidence-based medicine".
on the other end you find the headline of this post (without the question mark).

For me (considering the purpose of this thread) what is most appealing is:

reasonable worst-case scenario. Pick the studies comparable to yours and then make a worst-case assessment and base your numbers on this. Numbers considering the scientific (power) and economic (if necessary) considerations.

Then you have done much more than many before you. I see so so so often: "we choose to include 12 healthy volunteers". End of story. No rational, no numbers, no power, no nothing.

Study fails? How come? Big surprise..
