in a secured system it may not be possible for Phoenix to write temporary files to the root folder (XP Pro, Vista). In such a case

- login as administrator, create a folder
temp
in the root directory of your local machine (->c:\\temp
),
- in the folder
Phoenix\\application
open the filePhoenix.exe.config
in the editor of your choice; change
<services bindSubDirectories="true" tempDirectoryRoot="">
to
<services bindSubDirectories="true" tempDirectoryRoot="c:\\temp">
- make the same change in the file
PhoenixInit.exe.config
