lansoprazole [Off Topic]
Dear Dixit,
Lansoprazole is practically insoluble in water and extensively metabolized in liver. So, these factors may contribute to the high variability of this drug. Moreover, considering the solubility in water (0.97mg/L) and Log P value (1.9) this drug may be provisional classified as BCS class II, therefore the dissolution may be the key factor for its absorption. Generally, BCS class II drugs presents intrasubject variability (CVintra) higher than 30% in bioequivalence studies.
Additional comments will be welcome!
