No they are something different:
a regression coefficient is the slope of which the dependend variable changes with the independent
(see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slope)

the correlation coefficient gives the amount (%) of how much the change of the dependent variable is predicted with the independent (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_coefficient)
