Hi ElMaestro,

❝ How/why does the intercept count as an "effect"?

Well, cough... Lund's paper gives an example from a multiple regression model (Y on x₁, x₂) where the intercept is included. Therefore q=3 in the paper. Forgive my youthful abandon; maybe I called the test "obsolete" because I never understood it.
