In addition to the reasons given by ElMaestro, I would say that having a bed on a frame with legs will make your life easier if for some trial you need to collect the blood samples at bed side (e.g. if the drug makes the subjects dizzy and it would be risky to have them walk to a sample collection room), or if a subject has an adverse event and needs medical attention.
