Oh, I didn’t know that. I assumed that require() attachs a package only if is not already attached.
Should have RTFM, which states: “require is designed for use inside other functions …”

Exactly. In Pocock’s paper both z and α’ are rounded (2.178, 0.0294). I had to introduce my magick number in order to end up with 2.178.
