Fax/emailed copies of Labresults Versus Hardcopies [GxP / QC / QA]

Dear Madam/Sir,

If final lab results are faxed or emailed to site, is it necessary for the lab to send again hardcopies to site as well? Surely if the fax/emailed results are reviewed and signed off by the investigator, the hard copies (which usually arrive later) are not required?

What are your views on this. Kindly suggest.

Thanks and regards,
