IMHO definitely yes.

BTW: My preferred lm() model would be EMs above :-D. I have all my days compared 2 parallel groups (if only 2) with t-test if only the treatment effect was under consideration. And this is a special case of one-way ANOVA with treatment as factor.
But if we consider different variabilities in the treatment groups it is another story!

To ask it again: What is the idea behind your model, where does it come from? Do you have a reference for me? lm() or lme() is only a question of considering some effects as random or not.
