Dear bear users,

R v4.5.0 (codename: How About a Twenty-Six) was released today (April 11, 2025). I tested the clean installation with bw_preinst.r just like previously new releases (v4.4.2 & v4.4.3). Fortunately, it (bw_preinst.r) still worked well. Lucky for all Windows users since the old RGtk2 compiled with R 4.1.3 did not work on R v4.5.0 under Linux distros, such as Debian 12 (Bookworm), Ubuntu 24.04 LTS & Fedora v40-41. So this R upgrade should be fine for all Windows users. For macOS users, R v4.1.3 is still recommended for bear. That'll be all. Thanks for reading.

Ps. Regarding the download link for bw_preinst.r, please see my signature panel.

All the best,
