Thank D_labes,

So for a 4-way (4 period, 4 sequence,4 treatments) crossover or 4x4x4:
df = 3*(n1+n2+n3+n4)-6? with ni = number of subjects per sequence.

What would the formula be if you go even higher? 5-way?
