Dear all,

Again, I searched the keyword of COTS application with Google, and the found from one of links as follows [quoted]"..."COTS" is a term used to describe "commercial off-the-shelf" software. COTS applications are becoming increasingly more popular for solving mission and business objectives because the development effort is performed by the vendor of the product instead of a customer's internal staff..."[end quote] The website is just one of commercial companies that specialize in software test including testing COTS appliaction (see module 3 & 4 of Course Topics). So the COTS applications seem to be required to be verified and validated. I do not know if SAS is a COTS application or not. I just focus on the issue if COTS applications need to be PQed (hey! I used the term as a verb here).

❝ I asked this question because,it was knw to me tht since SAS is a COTS

❝ application, its not necesary to do the PQ.
