Hi John,

Hhm.

❝ Have you heard of a software called SYMCYP?

Yep. A spin-off from the University of Sheffield, led by Geoffrey Tucker. Physiology-based PK/PD like GastroPlus. Contrary to PopPK/PD, which is “top-down” (empiric model based on fitting PK data including covariates) Simcyp follows a “bottom-up” approach. Based on the physicochemical properties of the drug and a huge database containing information about physiological parameters (absorption sites, organ blood-flows, metabolizing enzymes/transporters) and their dependencies on age, sex, ethnicity, disease states, etc. concentrations are predicted. Interesting stuff.

Simcyp was acquired by Certara about two years ago.
