3rd World Congress on BABE-2012, 26-28 March, Hyderabad

Dear all,
I got the following email from the organization team of the 3rd World Congress on BABE-2012, 26-28 March Hyderabad, India:

"Thank you for your interest in BABE-2012.
We are very happy to have your talk at our conference.
For your participation you need to register for the conference, and registration will cost you $599.
and we have different packages in registration, PS: http://www.omicsonline.org/BABE2012/registration.php
Please send us your abstract and biography as per the attached template ASAP.
We look forward to hear from you."

So as a speaker you have to pay the same amount as a regular participant, this is not very attractive. I guess I will not participate :waving:

Dan

Kind regards and have a nice day

 2nd World Congress

Dear Dr_Dan, dear all,

further to your story:
I received an invite to speak at the 2011 2nd World Congress on BABE (Las Vegas).
As usual I said yes, if the organisers would pay for travel and accomodation.

I then received a message stating that they would pay travel and accomodation. But to qualify for reimbursment of my expenses I would have to find 3 new full paying attendees, and the amount reimbursed to me would in no event exceed 50% of my expenses.

Ponzi scheme??? I gave it a pass. If I really want to loose money in Las Vegas I can certainly think of some more obvious ways.

As a general remark, I do have a feeling that conference organisers are feeling the hit of the economic turndown. Across the board my impression is they seem slightly more restrictive in their terms for speakers.

Ok sorry, I think this thread is now gong slightly off the intended topic. HS, feel free to delete.

Best regards,
EM.

 Going Off-Topic ♠♥♦♣

¡Compañeros!

❝ I received an invite to speak at the 2011 2nd World Congress on BABE (Las Vegas).

Can top that. Got in Feb 2010:

Dear Dr.Helmet, [sic!]

Currently, we are involved in organizing “2nd Annual World Congress :blahblah:

We would like to take the utmost pleasure in inviting you as an Organizing Committee Member [oh, wow!] at this conference to discuss and analyze “Novel Approaches of Bioavailability & Bioequivalence Studies”. The organization is very glad to offer you a 50% discount on the registration for this conference.

BABE-2011 organizing committee anticipates over 1500 participants with 300 speakers…

❝ As a general remark, I do have a feeling that conference organisers are feeling the hit of the economic turndown.

Why don’t we organize a party of our own? Like Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Bioequivalence* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)… I do know some interesting speakers.
:offtopic!:
