Precision of Analytical Procedure [Regulatives / Guidelines]

Dear All,
Please Explain the meaning of following with the examples :
As per ICH Q3A(R2), ''The use of two decimal places for thresholds does not necessarily reflect the precision of the analytical procedure used for routine quality control purposes.''
And
''The use of two decimal places for thresholds does not necessarily indicate the precision of the acceptance criteria for specified impurities and total impurities.''
Is it true that reporting values in more decimal points indicates high degree of precision?
Thanks and Regards..
