Non-parametric tests [Power / Sample Size]

Hi..
I am a student and so, if my question sounds no-technical or stupid, kindly understand... I would like to know if we can calculate sample size in case of a study in which only non-parametric tests (chi square test and Z test) will be applied.

 Non-parametric tests

Dear Snigdhasantra!

❝ I would like to know if we can calculate sample size in case of a study in which only non-parametric tests (chi square test and Z test) will be applied.

In the context of bioequivalence, which kind of PK metric are you testing?
The Z test is parametric (based on the normal distribution).
For sample size estimation of nonparametric tests you have two options:
  • applying asymptotic normal approximations, or
  • bootstrapping.
