Dear Helmut!

Quick tests

Oh actually quick! But dirty :-P .
I assume that your 5th parameter is meant as CV.
But the function requires sigma, I think.

With that modification

library(MBESS)
CV <- 0.65
sigma<-sqrt(log(1+(CV)**2))

n <- 6
power.equivalence.md(0.05,TRUE, 0.8, 1.25, 0.95, sigma, n, n-2)
[1] 0.001620383

n <- 38
power.equivalence.md(0.05,TRUE, 0.8, 1.25, 0.95, sigma, n, n-2)
[1] 0.04509401

The answer for n=38 seems to me very sasophylistic home-brewed magic and Q-functionalistic :-D .
Not so astonishing if you look at the author of that pice of R-software.

PS: I have just seen that the documentation suggest that CV can be used in case of log. But this seems erroneous.

Regards,

Detlew

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
But, in practice, there is.    Jan L.A. van de Snepscheut
