Dear Matz,

you will get the same power in N subjects (TRRT|RTTR) as compared to a 2×2×2 design in N subjects (half the sample size - but same number of treatments!). If you perform a study in a 2-treatment 2-sequence 3-period design (e.g., TRT|RTR) the same power is obtained in N subjects.1)
